Unlocking the Power of RSS

The letters RSS stand for "Really Simple Syndication, "Rich Site Summary" or "RDF Site Summary". Actually, it depends on the version being discussed. Why are RSS feeds creating waves in the internet nowadays? Using RSS feeds is a cost effective way of delivering information to your target audiences. RSS feeds can beat the numerous problems encountered in email delivery these days. RSS has actually been around since 1999 but recently it has gained momentum due to the vast advantages it offers in delivering internet content for many online businesses. The power of RSS in the present days is very evident.

Many online marketers have discovered new ways in raising their incomes. They use RSS feeds to place the rich content of one web site onto another web site. In this case, the guest web site pays for the promotion that they get. For online marketers, RSS feeds can enhance their way of promoting and advertising their web sites in order to make their businesses flourish. To full take advantage of the benefits of RSS feeds, there are several ways you may try in order to boost your income. The foremost thing to do is to know who your target market is.

This way you will know what types of web sites they are interested in reading. RSS will make it easier for you to mix video and audio channels to your contents. Thus, you can create a catchy web site that will cater to your target audiences needs and likes. One notable beauty of RSS feeds is that it allows you to review a brief summary of an article that is available on a subscribed feed. If you are interested to read the whole article, then you can view the full page. You can save time because you can see the updates first before downloading the whole web site which may take awhile.

If there are no new updates, then you are spared of wasting your time in opening web sites that are heavy in graphics and multimedia. Since RSS feeds allow you to post your contents in other web sites, make sure that your contents are in other relevant sites. If you are able to place your content in the appropriate site, you can direct more traffic back to your own web site. Thus, you are unleashing the publishing power of RSS. The more RSS feeds you have in other web sites, the more you will gain income.

In return, you also get additional contents in your web site. Guest web sites that have their contents in your site will pay you for the benefits that they get and you will have a more regular traffic flow to your site, too. One great advantage with RSS feeds is that you can promote a web site in so many ways. Therefore, you are opening more opportunities to increase traffic while exploring your different marketing skills. There are many RSS eBooks in the market that can serve as your guide in unlocking the power of using RSS feeds for your online business.

Taking advantage of RSS feeds can also increase your search engine rankings. Although many publishers are already using RSS feeds in publishing and marketing, the market for RSS is still not crowded. There is plenty of room for you to expand business opportunities.

Enhance Your Web Marketing Business With RSS Feeds

Some people may tend to ignore the RSS button that appears on most websites nowadays, perhaps since they may have little idea of its use. However, there are those Internet savvy people who know how helpful it is in simplifying their searches. RSS feeds are updates of a particular site or even several sites. The feeds are similar to newsletters.

Most websites have an RSS option which one can subscribe to voluntarily. Once subscribed, he will be receiving a list of headline updates from the sites he subscribed to. RSS, otherwise known as Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary is an XML file containing summaries of a page content that it is linked to.

This web feature benefits both the web owner and the subscriber. Web users who visit several sites regularly can greatly benefit from RSS feeds. By subscribing to the RSS of their favourite sites, they no longer have to navigate away from their website and jump from one website to another to check for updates. This web feature will automatically bring the updates to their website or to their desktop, which makes browsing easier.

Moreover, since RSS feeds may contain teasers or summaries of the content pages, then, web users can easily pick out the articles they are interested in. Also, when a web user decides that he no longer wants to receive updates of a particular site, he can simply unsubscribe as easily as he subscribed.

On the other hand, RSS enhances the visibility of websites. Since RSS automatically sends updates to subscribers, then, a website would likely have a steady stream of visitors on a regular basis. Moreover, some web users display the feeds on their web pages as well, thus, your updates are also visible to the visitors of their websites. Therefore, the website is bound to generate more traffic.

These facts make RSS feeds an essential tool in web marketing. It is an efficient way of retaining clients by providing them with regular updates. It is a great way of reminding their of your website's existence and encourage them to visit your website regularly. Moreover, by using this web feature, the published contents are likely to attract more visitors.

However, once a website actually has gained tremendous subscribers, the result could be a slow connectivity on the web owner's side. Thus, most web masters use FeedBurner, or a similar service to be able to provide feeds to as many subscribers without affecting his server connection.

Also, Google has a particular program that allows web owners to earn money through visitor clicks. The program is called AdSense for feed. Typically, the advertisements displayed will be very similar to the content of the feed, thus, visitors are likely to click on the ad, in turn, the web owner gets to earn extra income from that ad in the content page of the RSS feed.

How to Increase Your Website Traffic With RSS Feeds

By Serge Daudelin Platinum Quality Author

Introduction to RSS Feeds

RSS is an acronym that stands for Really Simple Syndication. In layman terms, it is a way to syndicate information on blogs and other websites so that it can be delivered through a software platform to a person without actually having to visit a website. Software like Google Reader can be used to read RSS feeds and they are a way to allow a person to read a blog's material without actually having to visit that blog.

For most people, this seems like a bad idea for blog marketing simply because all of your money is made through getting people to come to the blog. However, this is a short term view and one that you absolutely can not take if you want to be successful at blogging in the long run. There are many ways that RSS feeds can help you increase your traffic.

Additional Readership

There are many internet savvy people that do not read blogs that do not have RSS feeds simply because they can not be bothered going back to the blog in order to visit it on a consistent basis. They don't like surfing blogs and therefore would not read your blog if you did not have an RSS feed. These people are important because from time to time when you have special offers, posts that require commenting or posts that they find interesting enough to come to your website for, they will visit. While it won't be every day, it will happen a few times each month and that can definitely increase your website traffic.

Blogging is not about website traffic as much as it is about maintaining a readership that is of a very high numerical amount. You might have 30,000 page views on your main page in a single month, but what use is that if you only have a dozen readers that just visit multiple times each day? More readers are the key and the RSS feed that you offer can be your ticket to getting more of them. Review Me and other similar advertising services take into account RSS feeds as well and there are ways you can advertise on RSS, filling your need for extra website traffic.

With RSS, it's really the best of both worlds. You can get more traffic through occasional website visits and you can get more advertising revenue through showing a larger readership.

Its easy to create your RSS Feeds. I recommend to use a good software unless you like to write XML manually. Then once your feed is done you have to upload your feed (XML file) on your web hosting account. I like to use FeedForAll.com to create RSS feeds. That software will automatically create your feed into the XML format. RSS is a free and simple way to publish for internet marketers. RSS allows your content to be delivered fast to your subscribers and other web media. So be sure to add RSS feeds to your internet marketing arsenal!

Learn The Basics Of RSS

By Rob Emmerson

Have you noticed RSS links on your favorite sites? Do you know what it is and how it can help market your site? RSS means Really simple Syndication. To syndicate your website is to have it republished somewhere else.

An RSS feed is a way to publicize updates to your website. It could be the entire update including photos, or just a summary of the latest update. Users can read a summary from your RSS and go to your site for the full details. Usually a RSS feed includes the title of your update with a link to the original source.

Why to you need to know the RSS basics? Because, RSS has benefits to both the readers and the publishers

An RSS feed keeps your readers informed. Whatever your update is, a blog post, a new sale price on an item, new music, whatever it is subscribers are immediately updated. Web users are becoming more comfortable with RSS and look for the feed to save time.

RSS can save valuable time and deliver a loyal following from busy internet users who receive the updates. By reading your RSS summary, the user can determine if the update is important to them without having to search your site to find the update.

If you are marketing online, you will reach a wider audience because people are more likely to subscribe to an RSS feed than they are to an email list. Users who utilize a RSS aggregator will be able to read your updates without their inbox overflowing.

While it may seem that the benefit of RSS is all on the user, your RSS feed can be used as a marketing tool. Subscribers to your RSS feed get the latest updates on your site delivered to them. This will focus your marketing to those who want to receive your message, and actually want your product. It also totally eliminates the possibility of your being accused of spamming.

RSS is still new, so using it exclusively may have some drawbacks. Some customers may still prefer to receive email updates, or may not yet understand RSS. Also, some graphics and photos may not appear, but if this is how your customer wants to hear from you it is a good idea you make the option available to them.

Even taking the perceived drawbacks into account, a RSS feed will create more traffic. Many of your RSS subscribers will want the entire story and will click to visit your site.

How to use RSS for Internet Marketing.

Originally, RSS was intended for users who wanted to customize their homepage with links to their favorite sites, much like social bookmarking sites work. Applying internet marketing to the feed was an afterthought. With the advent of services like Feed Burner, your RSS feed can be spiced up and rebroadcast to a much wider audience than you could have originally found.

Every day more people are using RSS. This innovation to the worldwide web and online marketing is becoming more widely used every day. If you are promoting a website, Blog, Forum, etc. incorporating an RSS feed is crucial to the success of your efforts. Once you get the basics down you will be able to benefit from publicizing your site through RSS.

What is RSS and How to Read RSS Feeds

By Jeremy A Gislason

Everyone loves luxury. Tools that make life simpler are always welcome. Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is one such tool that has caught on rapidly, simply because it is "really simple" to use like the name suggests.

What is RSS? RSS brings updated information straight to your desktop. All you have to do is subscribe to them and you will be intimated as and when there are updates. You can now keep yourself abreast of news, blogs, job listings, personals and classifieds with the least of efforts from your end.

Websites now are updated continually; sometimes, several times a day. RSS saves you the trouble of going over to websites regularly. Instead, whenever there is an update you are intimated almost instantly. Thus, this certainly is a "really simple", hassle free process of conveying information.

Increasing traffic, gathering and distributing news are some of the common problems that webmasters face. RSS is a simple solution for all. It is a lightweight XML format for sharing headlines and other web content. Each RSS text file contains both static information about your site and dynamic information in the form of new content from time to time.

RSS is another language by itself. But it is the end product that one is looking for. You can conveniently ignore the code just like the source code behind a webpage.

Types of RSS readers

Standalone readers
Standalone applications simply process RSS feeds. It is a new application that you can populate as much as you want. However, you are going to have to keep this additional application open on your desktop.

In a standalone reader, you will notice a toolbar with 3 window panes much like the preview mode in Microsoft Outlook. The subscribed RSS feeds are displayed towards the left side which can be organized into folders and categories. The upper-right panel shows the list of articles under the category selected while the lower-right panel shows the content of the article. Some standalone applications can be configured to send you an email or dialog popup window as and when there is an update.

Plug-in readers
Plug-in applications work within an existing program like Microsoft Outlook, Internet Explorer or Firefox. The reader merely becomes a new component of the application already opened. However, in case you have already clogged your system with many bookmarks and favorites, feeds might be an overload into your application.

For plug-in readers, a column for channels and a display area for a headline, a brief description and a URL are included in the desired application. In case of Microsoft Outlook, display only the headlines and summaries within the e-mail application and open an internet explorer to display the full content. In case of Internet Explorer application, the chosen article is automatically displayed within the browser. However, this tends to replace your Favorites bookmark collection.

How do you subscribe to an RSS feed?

Here are simple steps that you have to follow in order to subscribe to an RSS feed:
• Click the feed button of the desired webpage.
• Copy (right click and select copy) the URL from the address bar (http://...) of your browser, which should show a page full of XML code
• Now go to your newsreader, choose the category where you want this particular feed to be placed. Example: Sports, Entertainment, Academics etc.
• From the File menu, select New or New Channel. In most cases, the URL will get automatically pasted in the wizard, else, manually paste (right click and select paste) the link yourself.
• Then, follow the instructions provided. This will differ based on the newsreader chosen by you.

The reader will take care of the rest, once you have pasted the URL link. It will provide you with updates once the link has been fed in.

Customize options
When too many articles are accumulated through various feed subscriptions, the process of searching becomes difficult. For this, there is a Filter/Search bar. Type in keywords and the reader will throw up articles that contain your keywords. To go back to the full article list, click the drop down control for the filter bar and set the keyword to None.

You can also save an article by selecting "Copy to News Bin" option from the Edit menu. This can be accessed from the left hand panel.

There are several RSS reader software products in the market. They have interfaces that look resemble e-mail programs. Some of them are free while others are available at a reasonable cost.

Aggie, Ampheta Desk, Awasu, Feed Demon, Feed Reader, Headline Viewer, News Gator, Newzcrawler, Radio UserLand, Syndirella, Wildgrape NewsDesk, Web-Based Aggregators, Bloglines, Google Reader, Gregarius, My Yahoo, News Is Free, Rocket RSS Reader (RocketNews) are some of the most common RSS readers. You can use these readers to subscribe to feeds.

Some of the readers have the ability to set a watch, that is, an automatic search through all your incoming feeds for a specific keyword. Whenever a feed has the keyword specified by you, it is put in the watch list so that you can read up on your most sought after articles.

Over a period of time, you will have more RSS feeds in your reader than you can possible keep track of. Simply delete the title to do away with a feed you're no longer interested in. If you delete a feed permanently like this, you will not receive any updates or information from the particular publisher unless you re-subscribe to the feed.

There are several web directories of RSS software available online. So if you are looking at feeds related to specific topics, you can run a search to find dozens of links pertaining to what you are looking at.

All in all, RSS is a technology combined with convenience. This amazing combination ensures that you get all the information you want on a silver platter by the blink of the eye! It helps you keep up with information in today's fast paced world. Get started with RSS now!

RSS Feeds - What Are They and What Are They For?

By Barbara White Platinum Quality Author

RSS has been used for more than a decade, but have only recently become commonly used. It is used to provide headlines and summaries of information in a concise and standardized way in one place, without the inconvenience of visiting separate site on the internet.

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication (although versions before RSS 2.0 have been recognized by various names). RSS feeds are written in a computer language called XML. This technology is what makes big news websites possible: RSS files are used to create a data feed which will transmits headlines, links or virtually any other piece of information to a channel viewer application, which is sometimes called a news reader

Simply explained an real simple syndication feed is a method that allows web content to be formed into a recognizable form for viewing through an feed reader. It allows the user to save time and effort by viewing recent content from many different websites, without having to visit the sites individually.

RSS Feeds or news feeds are growing quickly and have become a integral part of the Internet but many users don't understand what they are. They allow people to see when their favourite websites have added new content without actually having to go to that website.

You can use RSS feeds to keep up to date with the latest posts from your favourite blogs and websites. Feeds can easily be used to get the latest news, weather,or movies, and be able to read them all in one place. This technology also gives you the ability to have other websites have up to date, accurate information from you online in seconds. Headline and sports news, informative articles, website updates, or your favorite food recipes are just a few of the things that you can syndicate!

Many people set up the feeds to update on their My Yahoo, or Google page. You can also use them to keep informed with any groups that you belong to.

For example, Yahoo Groups is a free online community and discussion group service. Yahoo Groups can be monitored using RSS feeds. In order to keep in touch with a particular newsgroup simply add "/feed/msgs.xml" to the end of the Yahoo Group URL. Add the new URL to your RSS reader and receive updates every time a new post is added to the newsgroup

RSS feeds can be used for online marketing very effectively.

If you want to promote your website, using real simple syndication can get your URL listed with all search engines very quickly. This is a good choice for new web pages that need to have increased web traffic. Marketing with feeds can frequently precipitate your web page as the excellent results ranking well for your web page's main keywords.

Internet marketers can use the technology of RSS feeds for contacting their mailing lists of subscribers. Many e mailed newsletters are deleted without being read. RSS feeds are a more effective way of communicating, and will avoid the challenge of an email not getting through the spam filters.

Webmasters can use RSS feeds to place different types of content on their site. Valuable content can be in the form of articles, stories, press releases, announcements, updated info, company details, products and marketing. Creating feeds on your site gives web pages an ever changing source of content syndication and they need very little maintenance once you have set them up. There are several advantages to using RSS as a source of web content to your site. Quality content keeps your site visitors coming back and continually adds value to your website. It helps to perpetuate you as an expert in your niche and makes people more confident in purchasing from your site. Content syndication greatly facilitates your site in obtaining higher ranking in the search engines.

The Crazy World Of RSS

By Karl Sultana

Rss fields are simple an invention created to help us get more information faster. It saves time and energy. If you are a webmaster you can utilize rss fields to drive traffic and get backlinks towards your website. If you are looking for information online, you can use rss fields to save a ton of time.

Rss fields are just like URLs, but instead of displaying a website, they sort of extract content from a particular website, usually a blog. You type in the rss field in the web browser, just like you do with a URL, then it loads links pointing to the blog posts of a specific blog and usually a small snippet of the blog post content.

So here is how this can be helpful if you are a webmaster.

There are rss directories, which just like article directories or website directories they accept rss field submissions. You grab your blog rss field and submit it. You get one way links towards your blog posts. More links will help your search engine rankings.

Depending on the platform you use to create your blog, you can edit your rss field settings and find out what your rss field is. Just navigate in your blog account settings.

You can add the rss field in various other places apart from rss directories. There are also software to automatically submit to these rss directories. Places like squidoo for example allow you to input your rss field. Just research a bit to find out where you can add your rss field.

On your blog it is a good idea, to let your visitors know you have an rss field, so they subscribe. This will help you get more backlinks if they bookmark it in some of their favorite social bookmarking websites. Plus the traffic you get from repeated visitors. They simple need an rss reader, which can be web based or software to read the new blog posts you add without the need to visit your blog.

Some rss readers automatically send them an email when you update your blog with something new. This is very helpful, you just have to add a small button or subscription form to capture rss readers. There are many free tools to implement this on your blog.

You can also add your own rss field to Google reader, My MSN and My Yahoo! Some recommend this as a method to get backlinks from these three popular websites.

If you are researching online and there are several blogs in most cases which you wish to monitor, you can use rss fields. Grab the rss fields of each blog, signup with an rss reader and you do not need to bookmark each blog and manually check whenever they add something new. It is done for you automatically by the rss reader.

We are not getting lazy, but we have to use our time wisely. These inventions help us do more without wasting more energy or time. Every blog owner needs to use rss fields in order to drive more traffic, get more backlinks or both.

Getting backlinks by using RSS fields is a great search engine optimization strategy. Discover even more tips and tricks on OutRankSmart.

RSS - Is It The Real Deal?

By Chris David Young

There are several ways to generate traffic to your website. One of the newer ways to get more traffic is through RSS feeds. When you visit one of the more popular news websites, they use RSS feeds to broadcast the latest headlines and news updates happening. Many blogsites also use these feeds to update to subscribers.

RSS means real simple syndication. In order to view RSS feeds, you will need to pick up an aggregator. A few of the main places on the Internet to find an aggregator will be at Technorati, del.icio.us and Feedburner. Right now, Feedburner is one of the newest and hottest RSS sites on the Internet. They were sold to Google last year, so you know Feedburner is a popular site.

These type sites are very popular among bloggers and individuals that use their websites or blogs for business. These RSS sites are made up as communities functioning as feed publishers and aggregators.

Many people use RSS feeds to read the newspaper on the web, read their favorite blogs, and read the CNN headlines and news stories that update throughout the day. These days, RSS feeds are so widely used almost anyone who is marketing information products or services have found a wider audience by using RSS feeds.

When someone subscribes to a RSS feed, they receive automatic reminders whenever new information and updates is received in the feed. This lets the readers stay in touch with everyone that use RSS feeds to broadcast with.

There are some direct advantages to using RSS feeds for email marketing techniques. There are no delivery issues, everything gets delivered and there are no spam complaints with them. Because of this feed, there is every chance that your message will be delivered to the readers.

One of the greatest benefits to using RSS is for improving your search engine ranking when you include this on your website or blogsite. A large part of search engine ranking are sites that are constantly updated with fresh content added to them. RSS feeds allow your website to get noticed when sites are updated. This will result in higher ranking with the search engines and more traffic.

Is any of this confusing? It can be confusing to understand and use, if you are not very familiar with seeing how this all ties in. The nice thing is that you do not need to know all of the finer details to having a RSS feed work for you.

At every RSS site community online, you will be able to convert your website or blogsite to begin a feed. Some of these RSS community sites you will spend some time at trying to ensure that you are hooked up and broadcasting. Some of these sites are more user friendlier than others.

Out of these, Feedburner, is the most user friendly of the RSS communities available on the Internet. It makes your feed more powerful, useful and easier to use. Getting your site burned is an easy set up with step by step instructions. Feedburner gives you several options to choose from to burn your site to feed with. All of the options are explained in simple detail.

Take the time to understand all of the options and put aside some time to learn how Feedburner operates. One of the main things they will allow you to do is track how many people are subscribers to your feed. This is invaluable information for you to have as a marketer.

Feedburner will also automatically ping other directory sites to let them know that your site has been updated. This site also allows individuals to subscribe to feeds via email as an option. In this way, whenever you update your site or blog, your feed subscribers receive an email notification.

Having a RSS feed is a powerful tool to get to know. This will help you generate more traffic than you ever would have had without it. Many Internet marketers have found that since they added a feed, their traffic and exposure has increased threefold. With the power of this to also boost search engine ranking, having a feed and learning to use it for your business will only bring in more sales.

As with anything else, do not use this method to overload your subscribers with spammy broadcast or you will lose them. Updating with fresh original content that flows well and informs well is the ticket.

Create attention grabbing headlines that will have your subscribers wanting to read your updates is great. But don't compromise yourself by providing content that will not back up your headline.

Learn more about RSS feeds by visiting some of their communities. Don't look this gift horse in the mouth, then let it get away from you. There are thousands of Internet marketers that use this tool almost exclusively to generate a very lucrative income.

How To Use RSS Feed More Effectively To Increase Traffic

By Jeff Schuman

 Platinum Quality Author

Getting more traffic and building a mailing list are two of the big keys to making money on the Internet. If you have a website or blog and are not using RSS feeds correctly then you are probably missing out on valuable opportunities to increase traffic.

RSS is the acronym for Really Simple Syndication and it is basically a format that is used all over the internet for syndication of news and other related sites, which can include all major news sites and personal web logs.

Many people will use RSS feed to help them increase their traffic for their home business.

There are five key ways to use RSS feed as a successful business tool for you.

One: You want to use RSS feed to get your domain blog-rolled but you first have to have the RSS in place. So if you don't know how to put it in place than you need to learn how.

You can do this by attaching links from other blogs and websites to your blog and website. This will help to increase your link popularity.

Two: Submit your RSS feed to the RSS directories. You will be able to drive a lot of traffic to your link this way and it will help to increase your link popularity with the search engines.

Three: Be sure and keep your RSS feeds up to date. You have to do this if you want to be indexed by search engines on a more frequent basis.

Four: Use RSS press release. This has many advantages and one of them being that you won't need to use email marketing as much because you will be able to spread the news to the important places as it comes in.

Five: Use RSS for real time advertising. For example, if your customer wants a product that is not currently available, when it becomes available you can use RSS to notify them.

This will help your customer service be better and will help increase customer loyalty also. Part of the success to making more money online is taking care of people when you get the chance.

Six: Many internet marketers still do not understand the importance of branding themselves. You do that several ways, but being able to establish your own credibility is a big key.

You can keep your name in front of your subscribers and build your credibility using RSS feeds. Over time you become a trusted source for quality information if you do it correctly.

A couple of websites I came across that offer good information on setting up a RSS feed are:

http://www.rssfeedgenerate.com/

This should give you some ideas on how to use a RSS feed to increase traffic. Traffic is the name of the game and you need it coming from as many different sources as possible if you are trying to make more money online today!

Using RSS Feeds to Drive More Traffic to Your Website

By Michael Ehlert

RSS feeds are basically like keeping a constant eye on an aspect of a remote web page. You may want to know when your favorite website is updated. Perhaps you need the latest weather updates. Regardless of the desired information, you simply need to set up an RSS feed to the desired site. You then need to gather all of your RSS feeds so they will output their information in one place such as your home page. This allows you to continuously monitor a wide variety of pages without having to manually check them.

The other aspect of RSS feeds involves advertising. If you would like to increase traffic to one of your current blogs or websites, you can publish an RSS feed on another website. Consequently, all visitors to the site you publish will see the ad for your web page; they will know exactly what is happening on your site at any given moment. The goal is to have your RSS feed published on as many different pages as possible. If you convince enough people to add your feed, then you can create a large network that customers will come across often.

Regarding the technical aspect of RSS feeds; they are based on XML code. If you wanted a live feed from another page in the old days, you had to manually paste a large piece of XML code into the code of your existing site. This was very cumbersome and beyond the abilities of most bloggers at the time. RSS makes XML simple and easy to use. Nowadays, you no longer need to paste XML code. You can simply follow a series of links to have an RSS feed on your "feed aggregator" page or software, or have your feed published elsewhere.

The meaning of the term RSS tends to change occasionally. However, the term currently refers to "Really Simple Syndication", according to Wikipedia. To view a feed, you will require an aggregator. This can be a site such as Feedburner, Technorati or del.icio.us (pronounced delicious). These sites are very helpful to personal bloggers, individuals who read many different blogs or feeds, and people who use their website or blog as a business. These sites refer to themselves as "communities", and they often function as both aggregators and feed publishers.

Feedburner claims to be the "biggest and baddest" feed publishing network. Having your feed "burned" can result in a massive increase in traffic, almost instantly. Simply by choosing Feedburner to publish your feed, you automatically gain access to many new marketing channels. Most likely, you will discover many channels that you didn't even know existed. Technorati is more of a blog-hosting site. However, its potential as a feed publisher and source of major traffic shouldn't be underestimated.

Del.icio.us markets itself as an "online bookmarking" utility specifically designed to attract end users, rather than publishers. This means that publishing your feed on this site will encourage more people to visit your site.

All in all, publishing RSS feeds from your site can greatly increase your web traffic and your online business. They are one of the most effective ways to let as many people as possible know what is happening on your website or your online store.

Create Your RSS Feed Slideshow Using A New Revolutionary Gadget!

By Avi Avia

The popularity and effectiveness of RSS feeds as powerful marketing tools is a fact that cannot be denied. Almost immediately after its introduction and distribution among hordes of eager internet users, online RSS feeds were implemented throughout most the different levels of the online world.

Millions of internet users have subscribed to RSS feeds in order to automatically receive relevant news and information directly to their homepages, thereby eliminating the need to spend precious time seeking out that same information. There is hardly a blog writer out there who hasn't embedded one of the leading RSS directories into their blogs and even Ezines used RSS feeds as their "daily news" for some time.

RSS feeds for picture galleries is another technology that has been around for a while. Websites like Photobucket, Flicker and Picasa have been providing their users with advanced RSS feed features like: "latest pictures from all albums", "album pictures", "album pictures" and even RSS feeds to all of a user's album thumbnails. However, users were faced with difficulties whenever there was a need to create a new picture gallery or update new pictures into existing galleries - while pictures could be embedded into a slideshow, any new picture galleries that were created or pictures that were updated had to be separately updated into RSS feed slideshows.

The next stage in the evolution of RSS feeds for picture galleries will offer interactive, personalized features allowing users to tailor their slideshows specifically to their liking. Pictures will be available for download and even sale - directly from the RSS feed slideshows!

A variety of innovative and user friendly gadgets have been released that solve the problem of separate updates for slideshows. One such gadget, based on the latest Ajax feeds API technology, was recently provided by Google open source. The gadget is simple to use: All you have to do is paste the RSS URL of the picture album you would like to create as a slideshow into the gadget box, give it a title, preview it, GET the code and paste it into your OTHER web presences such as blog, site, social page, or into your igoogle page.

The benefits offered by this new technology are undeniable:

• It will automatically display your latest pictures from your original gallery

• It will LINK to your gallery, your disciplined server/messenger, and you'll only have to make the update once.

• It will be added to your igoogle page.

The gadget is just the tip of the iceberg of an application to be announced in a couple of weeks. Currently the gadget which can be found at -RSS Slideshow gadget- only supports Picasa, Flicker and Photobucket feeds. To date the best image resolution is via Picasa feeds but in a matter of days image resolution will be enhanced for the other pictures as well.

Nuke Designers is an experienced, innovative and cutting-edge graphic design company specializing in the creation of highly attractive and efficient skins and templates specifically for use on dotnetnuke websites.

You can see the demo for the slideshow gadget live at :nukedesigners.com or just go and do it at: RSS slideshow gadget.

Start An Empire

By Tony Dean

With RSS feeds you can start a publishing empire - just look at the feeds coming from the big media companies like the New York Times and others. Every hour they have people in-putting more news items - feature articles, gossip and entertainment news - what can you put in your feed?

You can have many feeds for all sorts of genre's, just think of the possibilities for driving traffic to various pages of your web site where readers can access more information and maybe, click on an advert like Adsense or some other product to buy - or to give their email address to sign-up for an ecourse or email newsletter.

The possibilities for instant publishing via RSS feeds is endless, never before has it been so easy to publish anything, it has always been in the hands of the media giants - but no more - they don't have a monopoly on the internet. The media giants are now down to your level - you are equal to them on the internet - they may well have a large following but, you can also have a large enough following for the information you put out in your RSS feed given time.

Your RSS feeds do not have to be international in nature looking for a worldwide audience - they can be localized for your town or city with local news, entertainment, sport, political news, local gossip, travel - monetizing your feed by writing an article for a local business, and driving traffic to that page, you can charge good advertising dollars, with local businesses lining up for an 'item' spot in your feed. How many businesses could you take advertising dollars off in a week? How many feeds can you put out in a week? The possibilities are explosive in nature - yet so many web site owners struggle to gain any money at all from their offerings online - it's a hard slog!

Web 2.0 technology is here - yet I hear "What's that anyway?" from all over the forums and blogs from people who have not caught up with it to realize the possibilities - like putting images, photo's and even slideshows and video in RSS feeds, together with different fonts - instead of plain boring 'courier' - together with colored text and colored backgrounds, making the feeds more attractive to the readers - after all, a picture paints a thousand words - and certainly helps to get readers interested in your offer. See my website for RSS Traffic Attack my ebook explaining it all in great detail.

Web site owners can be too bogged down in routine by rote - doing the same things day-in and day out, they need to step back and look around them at other possible ways of promotion - RSS feeds are free promotion and do drive traffic.

The technology is here - just use it.

7 Reasons Why RSS Brings Visitors To Home Business Web Site

By Juhani Tontti Platinum Quality Author

RSS stands for Real Simple Syndication. Syndication means republishing an article which comes from some other home business website. A RSS feed is a way to publish updates. RSS gives benefits for both the publishers and the readers. Here are some:

1. The feed is quick, so the receiver gets the news in real time.

2. It saves the surfing time. Especially when the feed has the summary of the article, so the reader can decide if he will read it.

3.The receiver decides, from which home business websites he will subscribe the feed.

4. No spamming. RSS feed does not use email, so there is no spamming threats.

5. To unsubscribe is easy by just stopping the feed.

6. RSS can be used as an home business advertising medium. And it is better than emails because there is no spamming threads. RSS advertising is highly targeted and the receivers very motivated.

7. Photos and graphics will not be displayed in RSS.

A. How To Start A Home Business RSS?

Basicly there are two things, which a starter will need: an RSS aggregator or reader and RSS feed and the RSS feed comes from the RSS supported website. The RSS aggregator reads the RSS feed from the other website.

There are two types of aggregators, downloadable ones and online ones. The home business marketer gets the online aggregator free but you have to for the downloadable types. Both types allow you to decide which feeds you want to receive. Normally more advanced internet marketers pick the downloadable one, which gives more freedom for the customization.

B. 3 Easy Steps For RSS Feed.

1. Select RSS aggregator, if you are a beginner the online modell is okay, because it is very user friendly.

2. Scan the home page of the target web site for RSS. It contains RSS code, which you need to enter into the aggregator. Copy this code. Syndic8 publishes the directory of the sites, which support RSS.

3. Paste the code, with the URL of the website, into your aggregator.

Now you are ready to receive and to read the feed and new posts appear in real time, when they are published in the sending website.

RSS has many advantages for the home business marketers, because they can choose which feeds they want to receive. Now they are updated in real time about the products and services or websites that interest them. The marketing becomes very focused, because RSS does not use mass distributions. Small home business marketers can link social sites, personal blogs and websites, which would most probably be interested about their products.

It is clear that RSS is very effective in the information management and in the home business marketing.

Lucrative RSS - Tips to Get You Started With RSS

By Sean R Mize Platinum Quality Author

RSS is another traffic-generating medium that is being used to deliver content to online users without the need for these users to access a certain website. Most webmasters believe that it is a great tool in improving search engine ranking, enhancing merchant-customer relationships, and driving more quality traffic to a certain website.

1. RSS can be very complicated to first time users thus; it would be helpful if you can learn the ropes of syndicating your website to fully benefit from this method. One of the best ways to do it is to subscribe to RSS feeds of highly recommended sites like Bloglines, My Yahoo!, NetNews Wire and Firefox. There is no better way to learn the process than being a subscriber first.

2. When RSS feeds reach your subscriber's computer, they will be presented by title and feed's description. These will be the only deciding factors of your subscribers in either reading or skipping your content. If you don't want to be ignored, learn how to stand out from the rest by giving your feeds compelling, attention-grabbing titles.

3. Promote your feeds by submitting them to popular directories and search engines. This is the best way to make your content highly visible online which can result to increased number of readers and website traffic.

4. Make it easy for online users to syndicate your feeds. Include an RSS button on your content that can easily be clicked by anyone who would like to refurbish your content in their homepage.

5. To gain your readers' trust and to avoid getting penalized by search engines, make sure that you only published original content. This will make your readers feel that you value intellectual rights and that you actually have unique information to share.

ICT Solutions - Really Simple Syndication

By Himanshu Sharma

Really Simple Syndication or RSS is an XML based data format which is used to syndicate (distribute) the contents of a website. This data format is generally used for those websites which are daily or hourly updated like blogs, forums, newsgroups or sites which provide news services. A RSS feed is an XML file (.xml) which contains XML code. Each file contains one or more items. Each item contains its title, description and link back to the full contents of the article. The distributed contents of a website are also known as the feeds.

Now the question is what the use of such type of syndication. When you update your website and want to tell your visitors about it, then you use this technology. Otherwise a visitor will have to manually check each webpage of a website for an update. There are special programs known as 'RSS Readers' through which you can upload and publish your feeds on the net and inform your visitors about the latest updates on your website. One such program is newsgator.com. Generally these readers (also known as aggregators) are free to use and can also be used to develop syndicated contents. Majority of people subscribe to feeds via 'subscribe button' or 'subscribe' link available on the websites and only those who are familiar with 'XML' develop them. There are some new programs available on the net to develop syndicated contents like the 'List Garden' Program. These programs don't require a user to have the knowledge of XML. This means, now anybody who is familiar with windows or a standard PC can now develop RSS feeds.

Productive RSS - 3 Components of an Effective RSS

By Sean R Mize

You often see on majority of websites the tab that has RSS Feeds text superimposed on it. But most of the times, a lot of these people who see it do not really understand or to the least have the slightest idea about what Really Simple Syndication is and how they can impact any website.

RSS or Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary to some others is a new technology that allows net users to receive the latest updates that are happening on a specific site right in front of their own PC and the site that they are currently working on. This is a good way of site owners to make their potential clients updated and keep them abreast of the current and the latest happenings on their site. To come up with a better and effective Really Simple Syndication , the following components are necessary:

a. Create a well-made RSS feeds. The content of the Really Simple Syndication feeds should directly tell the Really Simple Syndication readers about what is to be expected from the site. It should clearly and concisely inform these readers the benefiting factors that they will get should they be visiting the site at once.

b. After the RSS feeds have been made, have these submitted to some of the Really Simple Syndication directories. This will make your Really Simple Syndication feeds gain wider exposure and visibility. This will in turn generate more and more potential clients become aware of all the updates and recent events that are happening on your site.

c. You can also post your RSS feeds on your own website. Just remember though that these Really Simple Syndication feeds should be visibly seen on your website. Strategically position these Really Simple Syndication feeds on your site where they are immediately get to be noticed and not just seen as decorative or ornamental elements of the site.
